Jdeveloper Setup for OAF

The very first step is about downloading the correct jdeveloper in order to start using OAF in jdeveloper IDE. Therefore we will first see how to recognize correct jdeveloper and download the same followed by configuring the same.

How to Find Correct Jdeveloper Version and Download:

STEPS:

  1. Login to Oracle Apps Instance.Oracle_Apps_Login_Page
  2. Click on About this Page link below in the page.About This Page in Oracle EBS
  3. Navigate to Technology Components.OAF_Version_Technology_Components
  4. Find the Keyword OA Framework Version.
  5. Login to Metalink.Oracle MetalinkIt will take you to the Single Signon Page once clicked on the Sign In button, Please note to download this software, one need to have CSI provided by Oracle.Oracle SSO Login
  6. Search for Jdeveloper with same OA Framework Version as found in the instance.Search JdeveloperFind out the version of the Jdeveloper required.

How to Configure Jdeveloper in Windows:

STEPS:

  1. Leta��s create a folder with name jdevtrng under C:\ Drive.
    Create_JDEV_Directory
  2. Extract the jdeveloper zip under jdevtrng folder.Extract Jdeveloper
  3. As soon as the zip is extracted, three folders will be created jdevbin, jdevdoc, jdevhome.Initial_Folders_in_Jdeveloper
  4. Now set the classpath in the Environment Variable of the system. Navigation Path:
      1. Right click on My Computers
      2. Choose Properties > Advanced System Settings.Jdeveloper Settings Advanced System Properties
      3. Click on Advanced Tab.Jdeveloper Setup Advanced Tab
      4. Click on Environment Variables.Jdeveloper Setup Environment Variables
      5. Click New under User Defined Variables to add new environment variable
        Variable Name: JDEV_USER_HOME
        Variable Value: C:\jdevtrng\jdevhome\jdev

  5. Now, download the .dbc file from $FND_SECURE of the concerned instance. Note: dbc file varies from one instance to other. E.g for DEV, dbc; for UAT, UAT.dbc; for Production, PROD.dbcDBC FilePath in APPSNavigate to the same path in UNIX:DBC available under UNIX
  6. Place that .dbc file under C:\jdevtrng\jdevhome\jdev\dbcfiles\secureDBC in JDEV
  7. Now launch jdeveloper(exe) having navigated to C:\jdevtrng\jdevbin\jdev\bin.Launch Jdeveloper
  8. Shortcut can also be created at desktop. Right click on jdevW, Select Send To and then Desktop(Create Shortcut).Create Shortcut for Jdeveloper
